A practical guide to fees, payouts, and reverse quotes

The calculator uses published US commercial rates in USD. It keeps Goods & Services, Checkout, card, Pay Later, and QR payments separate because each product can use a different rate.

Choose the rate that matches your payment

Use the PayPal Goods and Services fee calculator by selecting Goods & Services (G&S). The PayPal G&S fee calculator applies that published rate without treating it as the default for every commercial payment. Start with the payment type shown in your transaction details or account agreement: G&S is not always the same as Checkout, an invoice, or a card payment.

This tool covers commercial payments received by a US account in US dollars. We checked the rates against the official PayPal Merchant Fees page, effective July 15, 2026. Use your account agreement if you have custom pricing or use a product not listed here.

Use the PayPal reverse fee calculator for an exact target

Choose Calculate PayPal fees when you know what the customer will pay. The result shows the estimated charge, each fee line, and the amount left after fees. Choose Find the amount to charge when you know the net amount you need. For other pricing models, use the reverse fee calculator.

For example, a $100 domestic Checkout payment has an estimated $3.98 fee: $3.49 plus $0.49. You receive $96.02. To receive exactly $100 with the same rate, charge $104.12. The result changes for G&S, card, Pay Later, QR, and international payments.

The quick examples below use domestic US PayPal Checkout at 3.49% + $0.49, from the schedule effective July 15, 2026. Each percentage fee is rounded half up to the nearest cent under this calculator’s estimation method. In the last column, the first-column amount is treated as the target net amount.

What this US PayPal international fee calculator includes

For an international commercial transaction covered by the US schedule, the tool adds the published 1.50% international fee to the domestic percentage. On a $100 Checkout payment, the estimate rises from $3.98 to $5.48. The net amount falls from $96.02 to $94.52.

The cross-border fee does not include currency conversion. An exchange rate or conversion spread may add another cost. The tool also does not apply rates for accounts based in the UK, Canada, Australia, or other markets.

What the estimate includes—and what it leaves out

The estimate covers one standard commercial transaction for a US account in USD. It supports only the payment types listed above. It excludes micropayments, nonprofit and charity rates, custom merchant pricing, Advanced Checkout, ACH caps, virtual terminals, conversion, disputes, chargebacks, refunds, taxes, and optional protection products. For a custom rate, use the percentage fee calculator.

For consistent estimates, this calculator rounds each percentage-based fee half up to the nearest cent, then adds the fixed fee. This is the calculator’s estimation method, not a universal PayPal rounding rule. PayPal may apply account- or product-specific calculation and rounding rules. Reverse mode uses the same estimation method to find the lowest cent-level charge that reaches your target.

Everything runs in your browser. Your inputs are not added to the URL, stored in an account, or sent to a calculation server.

Results are estimates, not account statements, financial advice, or tax advice. Actual charges can vary by market, currency, product, and negotiated pricing. Use your transaction details as the final record, and read our guide to payment processing fees for a broader cost review. This independent tool is not affiliated with or endorsed by PayPal.
